Technical Requirements for Video Files ​
This guide outlines the recommended technical specifications for creating videos that perform optimally on the Videobot platform.
Video File Specifications ​
Essential Format Requirements ​
- File Container: MP4
- Video Codec: H264 (High Profile)
- Audio Codec: AAC
- Scan Type: Progressive (no interlacing)
- GOP Type: Closed GOP
- Fast Start: Enable "Fast Start" or "Web Optimized" option in your export settings (places the moov atom at the beginning of the file)
Dimensions and Orientation ​
Choose the appropriate format based on your intended display:
- Horizontal Videos: 16:9 aspect ratio (1920×1080 pixels)
- Vertical Videos: 9:16 aspect ratio (1080×1920 pixels)
Frame Rate and Bitrate ​
Frame Rate: 30fps or lower (maintain the original recording frame rate)
Recommended Bitrates:
Resolution Recommended Bitrate 1080p 8 Mbps 720p 4.8 Mbps 480p 2.4 Mbps 360p 1 Mbps
Audio Requirements ​
- Channels: Mono or Stereo (multi-channel audio will be downmixed to stereo)
- Sample Rate: 48 kHz (recommended)
- Quality: Clear audio with minimal background noise
Widget Video Requirements ​
The widget style embed also requires video file:
- Purpose: Appears as a circular thumbnail on your website to launch the Videobot
- Duration: 5-10 seconds
- Audio: No sound needed (will be muted on websites)
- Content: Should visually represent your Videobot's purpose
- Format: Same technical specifications as main videos
Export Tips ​
When exporting your videos:
- Use high-quality settings in your editing software
- Enable "Web Optimization" or "Fast Start" in export settings
- Preview your export to ensure smooth playback before uploading
- Check file size – while quality is important, extremely large files may impact processing times
