Media Import
The Media Import feature lets you automatically sync videos and images from external sources into your Videobot library. Instead of manually uploading each file, you connect an external feed or asset management system and Videobot keeps your library in sync.
Two source types are supported:
How It Works
- Add a source — Configure an MRSS feed URL or EMMI instance in your account settings.
- Map metadata — Optionally map external categories, tags, and custom fields to your Videobot library.
- Sync automatically — Videobot polls your source on a schedule (every 15 minutes to 24 hours) and imports new or updated content.
- Monitor — Track sync status, review history, and handle errors from the dashboard.
Imported media appears in your Video Library with a draft status, ready for you to use in videobots.
Key Features
- Automatic sync — New content is imported on a configurable schedule without manual intervention.
- Change detection — Only changed items are updated, keeping syncs fast and efficient.
- Category mapping — Map external categories or folders to your Videobot categories, with optional auto-creation.
- Tag import — Bring in keywords and tags from external sources with normalization rules.
- Custom field mapping — Map external properties to Videobot custom fields with automatic type conversion.
- Deletion tracking — When content is removed from the external source, Videobot detects it and archives the corresponding media.
- Real-time updates — EMMI sources support webhook notifications for instant sync on content changes.
Permissions
Media Import is available to users with Owner, Admin, or Super Admin roles. The feature must be enabled for your account.
